Senior Dentist / Clinical Director
Dr. Luke Simpson
Luke is an Otago graduate dentist with over 22 years of clinical experience in cosmetic, restorative, surgical restorative, surgical, and implant dentistry.
His attention to detail gained him the Leask Memorial Medal for Conservative Dentistry and the New Zealand Society of Periodontology Prize.
Luke provides a wide range of dental treatment and has a special interest in restoring worn midlife teeth, dental implants, and offering dental care with IV sedation for apprehensive patients wisdom teeth, dental implants, wisdom teeth, and offering.
Outside of work, Luke enjoys skiing, snowboarding, cycling with friends, and attending the local church. Luke has lectured and run study groups in dental implants, sedation, dental emergencies and dental materials.

Dr. Sony Sudhakaran
Bachelor of Dental Surgery 2005.
Over the years, Sony has focused on learning about holism and promotes a humanistic culture in dentistry. In her gentle and empathetic approach, she strives to achieve clinical excellence. Sony ensures a pleasant dental experience for her patients by explaining procedures clearly and succinctly to reduce fear and anxiety.
She is passionate about oral health education, especially amongst young adults for a positive life outcome.
Dr Sony has a keen interest in Cosmetic dentistry which includes teeth straightening with Invisalign, Go clear aligners, smile designing and ceramic veneers. Much of her time is devoted to General and preventive dentistry along with minimal intervention dentistry.
She is currently furthering her experience in Dental Implants.
Outside of work, she is a mother to two beautiful young kids and enjoys training in mixed martial

Dr. Saskia Saetrum
Saskia graduated from the University of Otago in 2014.
Upon graduation she took up a position in a rural dental clinic in Central Otago, which provided broad experience including managing traumatic injuries, minor oral surgery, and after-hours on-call.
Saskia moved to Auckland in 2018 and has worked in the area ever since.
Her patients appreciate the time she spends talking with them and explaining prevention of decay and gum problems. She has a strong attention to detail and is committed to providing her patients with exceptional dental treatment. Saskia says her main goal is to work with her patients to achieve healthy mouths and to help them maintain their teeth for life.
Outside of private practice, Saskia is a former committee member and treasurer for the NZ Society of Endodontics.
She continues to build on her professional qualifications, and regularly attends courses both nationally and internationally. Saskia trained in both Implant Surgery and Advanced Implant Prosthetics in Sydney in 2019. She holds full Invisalign® accreditation and is also accredited with the NZ Society of Sedation in Dentistry to provide advanced intravenous (IV) sedation. IV sedation causes deep relaxation and sleepiness, and is a very effective and safe option for people that are anxious about coming to the dentist.
In addition to dentistry, Saskia trained with the Australian Academy of Dento-facial Aesthetics in botulinum toxin (muscle relaxant) injections to help patients with bruxism (tooth grinding and clenching) and tension headaches.
Outside of the practice, Saskia loves the outdoors, golf, tennis, and the beach.

Dr. Jess Jiwon Choi
Outside of work she is less of a nerd and enjoys hikes, the beach, and being a foodie. Jess is fluent in both English and Korean.
Having always been artistic in nature, Jess loves the versatility and precision of general dentistry. Jess focuses on delivering stress-free treatment, for which her patients often compliment her down-to-earth, gentle, and informative approach. Whether it is just for a quick fix or life-long care, Jess will happily guide you through the treatment options to best suit your individual lifestyle and aspirations.
Visiting the dentist (like eating your vegetables and reducing your butter intake...) can often feel like a chore. It can be a delicate process to improve and stabilise a patient's oral health, but Jess aims to equip patients with the knowledge and skills to act preventively/proactively to avoid issues in the long term. Nervous patient or not, all patients could benefit from gaining a "builder's report" of their mouths to take their oral health into their own hands. You'll be in safe hands if you're in need of dental treatment but the goal is in stabilisation and maintenance!
How do you get to where you are now?
Being a nerd with artistic talent, but no guts to go into the fine-arts, has led Jess in pursuing the career where she could have it all - being a dentist is likened to being an engineer, artist, and healthcare profession all in one. Jess loves being a dentist and hopes this shows through in her bubbly personality.

Glodie Biladi
I am a highly skilled, kind, charismatic, and compassionate individual with four years experience as an OHT, graduating with my Bachelors in Oral Health from AUT. I have a strong work ethic and am known by staff and patients for always providing thorough dental treatment. Providing dental care in both my hygiene and therapy scopes is truly my passion as I am able to educate and provide dental treatment for children through general dentistry and hygiene and hygiene alone for adults. In my role as an OHT my aim is to go above and beyond for my patients and provide exceptional service in a calm and gentle manner with the hopes of giving you the confidence to walk out of my surgery with an educated and healthier smile.
Work Experience:
Prior to working at Titirangi Dental Centre I worked as an OHT for the Waitemata DHB, with the school dental service - providing dental care to young children and teenagers. In this role, it gave me insightful knowledge and understanding on how to treat nervous and anxious patients - a skill I have greatly utilized across the board with all my patients.
Hobbies:
If you don’t find me treating teeth - you can find me either invested in a good podcast, a good book, taking part in hip-hop classes at my local dance studio, going for a nice long stroll or spending quality time with family and friends.

Originally from India, I chose to pursue my passion for dentistry overseas, and New Zealand quickly became my preferred destination.
I have had the privilege of working in various capacities within the dental field, honing my skills and gaining valuable insights. My commitment to delivering exceptional service has led me to take on the role of a dental practice manager. As a manager, I have overseen the seamless functioning of the dental team while prioritizing the well-being of our patients. I believe in fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that enhances both professional growth and patient satisfaction.
My professional journey is underlined by a simple yet profound motto - to provide unwavering service to both the dental team and our patients. I firmly believe that a harmonious and motivated team translates into superior patient care. I joined Titirangi Dental Centre in 2022 as Dr. Luke Simpson's assistant, and I really enjoy all the different treatments we offer our patients, including Invisalign, implants, crown and bridge work, and sedation. As the head DA, I am responsible for lab work and managing clinic stock. Being part of the great team at Titirangi Dental is a joy for me.
During my free time, I love playing club soccer and cooking on the BBQ. I have two sons aged 2 and a half and 6 and a half years, and they love playing soccer with me. My wife and I love to travel and watch movies together.

My name is Paul Lai and a husband of a woman and two teenage son’s father. I am a Kiwi Chinese immigrant from the year 2000 who got married in Auckland, NZ. Then left my hometown Hong Kong, China, and started my family here
I got my Bachelor of Ministry and worked as a volunteer pastor to serve the community. Also, to work a full-time job to support whole families.
My values and principles are always to try my best to do the right things. Unfortunately, I am just a human if I have done something wrong, I will say sorry and no doubt. Also, I will try my best to help someone who needs help. Maybe someday I might need help as well.
After ten years of experience in the Dental industry starting as a junior Dental Assistant and becoming a branch senior staff, I needed to go through different lessons and those lessons made me keep learning all the time.
When I joined Titirangi Dental Centre in July this year I kept learning to use my experience and new things to cooperate with all my colleagues to serve our local community.

Luke and the team not only helped me get that tooth back to good health but have worked closely with me on gum issues since. I like that Luke talks me through each step before, during and after which helps me stay informed. I also appreciate the they provide options for treatment. I avoided dentists for my whole adult life to my own detriment. Each time I went in, it left me not feeling the best and they didn’t take a holistic approach but that has changed now.
